CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y.—Tickets for Chautauqua Institution’s 2008 popular entertainment concerts go on sale April 1. Theater, symphony and dance tickets will also be available, and single opera tickets will go on sale April 21.

Tickets may be ordered over the phone by calling (716) 357-6250, however, the most convenient way of ordering is online at http://www.ciweb.org. A complete calendar of events can also be accessed on our Web site. All tickets may be purchased in person Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Chautauqua’s Turner Community Center located on Route 394, The Reg Lenna box office or at any Wegmans location.

Patrons are urged to order tickets early as many performances are expected to sell out quickly.

This Akron, Ohio based ensemble will open the 2008 season and spirit us into the Chautauqua experience. The band came into existence in the fall of 1997 following a couple of reading sessions held during the summer of that year. The impetus for the formation of the group was the knowledge that the widely experienced brass band conductor, Dr. Keith Wilkinson, was now residing in the area. This year will mark the Centennial celebration of the 1908 New York to Paris Automobile Race, in which the Thomas Flyer (built in Buffalo, NY) and driven by George Schuster of Springville, NY, won the International competition for the United States.
